Tata Group owned telecom company Tata Teleservices has entered into first round of discussions with Anil Ambani led Reliance Communication to explore the possibility of joining hands with upcoming merged Rcom-Aircel-MTS entity.
This is all happening only because of Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio entry in the telecom sector and their free services strategy.
The Rcom-Aircel-MTS-Tata tele combine will have around 260 million subscribers base, closing in on Airtel's 266 million subscribers. Vodafone and Idea cellular have 205 million and 190 million subscribers base respectively and their merger will result in India's leading telecom company with 395 million subscribers. Tata Teleservices currently has 53 million subscribers ranks 9th in India.
